Meet our staff:
Amber Beaumont – Gym Owner & Personal Trainer

Hi, I’m Amber and I have owned and managed the Raglan Gym since 2009. I have been working in the industry for the past 23 years, and have a passion for both fitness and the outdoors. My philosophy in life is ‘train indoors to enjoy the outdoors’. Whatever that may be for you, whether it’s rock climbing, hiking, snowboarding or surfing, if we keep our muscles strong we will have less stress on our joints.
In the past I have done body building, and have lots of knowledge around lowering body fat and training for competitions. I have a background in personal training as well. I would love to help you reach you health and fitness goals. Reach out ot me if you need a hand. 027 2946949.

Erin Fairgray – Yin Yoga Teacher

Hi, I’m Erin, I’ve been a trauma-informed yoga teacher and holistic wellness practitioner for over 20 years. With a background in mental health, I’ve been drawn to yin yoga, which offers unhurried time to cultivate a more compassionate relationship with yourself and experience the power of presence. I create safe, supportive spaces that invite gentle, intuitive movement, longer-held releasing stretches, conscious breath and deep relaxation for body and mind. I look forward to being in community with you.
Janelle Smith – Yoga Flow Teacher

Hey, I’m Janelle. I’m a yoga and meditation teacher and life coach, and I
truly believe yoga is for everybody — and every body.
I first stepped onto a yoga mat when I was 18, and my relationship with
yoga has changed and evolved so much over the years. What I love about the
practice is that it gives us an opportunity to slow down, come back to the
present moment and actually notice how we’re feeling. I’ve realised over the
years that yoga isn’t about doing the perfect pose or what it looks like
from the outside. It’s about connecting with ourselves, our bodies and our
breath, and getting quiet enough to listen.
I completed my Yoga Teacher Training in India and have also trained in
meditation and pranayama through Kings Meditation & Mentoring in Australia.
My classes blend strong, intentional movement with space to slow down,
breathe and reconnect.
I look forward to meeting you on your mat.
Dianne Davies – Cover Yoga Instructor

Hi, I’m Diane and some of you may have seen me lifting weights at the gym or practicing yoga with you at one of the classes. I teach a couple of regular classes at The Space and fill in for the regular teachers at the gym classes. When not teaching or practicing yoga, I work as a holistic therapist, incorporating body work with aromatherapy, reiki and tarot reading. My background in counselling and body work help inform my teaching, and as a certified Mental Health Aware Yoga Teacher, it is important for me to create a safe container for students to explore and experiment on the yoga mat, regardless of age, experience and physical capabilities
I have lived in Raglan for 11 years and completed my first yoga teacher training about 10 years ago. However, I have been a student of yoga for much longer, clocking up around 25 years now. I am passionate about yoga being accessible for every type of body because I have found it immensely healing in times of challenge in my own life and wish to share this with others. In the fast paced world we live in, it’s lovely to connect with ourselves and others on the yoga mat.
Sam Cowley – Cover Receptionist

I love feeding off the fit vibes and big gym energy you all bring so nga mihi for that, it helps me stay motivated.
I’m playing the long game, so training for me is about longevity, strength and moving my muscles the way they want to be moved, to prevent injury and feel good. Sport is my favourite way to play and has been for most of my life. I’m not a fan of sitting, I’d rather be moving or lying down lol.
I’m also a massage therapist and have a massage room above Ulo Store. It compliments the gym well and I’ve got a few clients from there so bring it on. My qualification is a Diploma in Wellness and Relaxation Massage from Wintec.
Nurturing people is my gift I guess, but I love the lightness and social side to the gym and I really enjoy talking to people when they have their headphones on haha.
I’ve done a lot of things and lived in a few different places, but this place is my favourite. I feel like in Whāingaroa the world comes to you and I’m grateful for that, and the constant flow of people keeps the energy fresh, the gym is a good representation of that.
If I could give you any advice it would be to try the yoga that we offer through the gym, we’re spoilt with some quality yoga instructors and it’s a great way to lengthen and stretch your big tight muscles, it’s great for mind health as well obviously.
Love a bush walk or beach run, love yoga, and love a good meditation and sweat in the sauna too. My other best gym friends are treadmill number 2, lat pull down and seated row. I got an upper body and lower body training programme from David West, if you want some edge and to really get down to the nitty gritty he’s your guy!
Thanks all and thanks Amber for the opportunity to grow and learn and connect in a positive space.
Ngā mihi nui
Sammy
